Hey, I’m Alex

Hi, I’m a journalist and entrepreneur covering startups, cryptocurrency, and the whacky direction humanity is headed in a post-Internet world. You can find an over-caffeinated version of me in coffee shops, bookstores, and music venues in Miami (home for now!), New York City, San Francisco, and Austin.

Beyond the things I love to do and get paid for (my professional life), there are many things I love to do but do not get paid for. I’m attracted to philosophy, psychology, writing, exercise, music, mindfulness, traveling, and all other things I believe will push humanity, and hopefully myself, towards its full potential.

Before diving into a barrage of links to my work, here’s the skinny. I’m the founding Editor-in-Chief of CoinCentral, a top cryptocurrency and blockchain media site, a Trends writer for The Hustle (an awesome newsletter that goes out to 1.5m entrepreneurs), and the Director of Content for JUICE, a NYC-based marketing agency.

I originally made this site to be an extension of my fascination with life and a platform for the exploration of heady ideas and trends, and it inevitably blossomed into a sort of conversational portfolio of what I’ve been doing in the past few months.

Most of my writing is spread over this site, my Medium, and various corners of the Internet, and I’ll do my best to make this site a central point for it all. To keep up with me, you can follow me on Twitter

Anyway, here’s what I do:

I am the founding Editor-in-Chief and Partner of CoinCentral.com, a leading cryptocurrency and blockchain media publication. On any given month, our site receives anywhere between 400,000 to 2M monthly readers depending on search volumes. My role thus far has involved:

  1. Building the editorial back-end and guidelines, as well as recruiting a team of over 20+ journalists, editors, and graphic designers.
    1. Devising and executing a long-term content strategy that has helped CoinCentral grow to one of the most powerful ranking sites in the cryptocurrency, blockchain, and personal finance niches.
      1. If you’re an SEO nerd like me: 72 Domain Rating, 71,210 Ahrefs site rank, 325,000 backlinks, and 161,000 organic ranking keywords.
  2. Writing weekly industry summary emails for an email list of 85,000 recipients interested in the awesome developments in the cryptocurrency space.
  3. Establishing media relations with hundreds of projects and events to help nurture the ecosystem by providing them with a platform to tell their story via our team of journalists. I have personally interviewed some of, who I believe to be, the brightest minds and strongest leaders in the blockchain and startup communities (listed below).
  4. Building CoinCentral into a leading brand and champion for education and thought, rather than senseless market updates and price predictions. Our articles have been cited in publications like Forbes, TechCrunch, Vice,  Yahoo Finance, The Guardian, Investopedia, The Motley Fool, The Street, Seeking Alpha, Trading View, ZeroHedge, The Verge, Venture Beat, The Next Web, CoinTelegraph, Bitcoin Magazine, Wikipedia, Behance, Tech in Asia, Futurism, CCN, and the sites of the FTC, Hubspot, Deloitte, Gartner, Intuit,  YCombinator, Brave, and more.

Head of Content at JUICE, an NYC-based end-to-end digital marketing agency where I’ve worked alongside some phenomenal and talented entrepreneurs with clients such as Buzzfeed, Kenneth Cole, Illesteva, Cabin, Moonpod, Draper University, Kauffman Fellows, and more.
